Hurricane Rita really likes Coldplay.

Within an hour of Rita moving up to a Category 5 hurricane, my friends and I were notified that we no longer have a hotel room waiting for us in Austin. FEMA announced a 30-day extension for Katrina evacuees staying in Texas hotels. The word this afternoon was that there were no vacant hotel rooms across the entire state. So we’ll be packing our sleeping bags and crashing at a friend’s apartment with 6-7 other people.

Saturday and Sunday it looks like the heavens are going to open up over us. While I am worried about friends I know in Houston, I can’t help but feel this will be the most intensely fun weekend of the year.
